Tattooed Words is a poster series that gives a positive affirmation to women who suffer from any form of violence or behaviour that despises them. The words inked on the model’s body convey messages that women do not submit to the expectations of others. The words on the posters read “Do you truly believe that I am devoted to you?”, “I am onlyletting you think that you are in control”, “You are not the centre of the world”, and “Those tears are not for you”. By speaking out loud via their body, it allows them to unleash themselves from the difficulty of verbally expressing their emotions. The tattooed words are not only permanent on their skin, but are instilled into their minds, empowering them.
